NBSTC Elects New President, Matin Dunlap Sr. November 2025

The National Black State Troopers Coalition is proud to announce the election of Matin Dunlap Sr. as its new President, effective November 2025. Dunlap was selected by vote of the membership and Board of Directors, marking a new chapter of growth, modernization, and national impact for the organization.

“Our coalition has always been a force for progress,” President Dunlap said. “We are committed to growing our membership, expanding resources, and strengthening the connection between law enforcement and the communities we serve.”

Under his leadership, NBSTC will launch several key initiatives, including:

  • Nationally recognized training programs featuring subject-matter experts, thought leaders, and experienced practitioners.

  • Membership growth efforts to welcome minority troopers, public-safety professionals, and partners nationwide.

  • Expanded community outreach projects that create real, measurable impact in schools, neighborhoods, and local organizations.

  • Stronger engagement with government officials and business leaders, building new partnerships that support public-safety initiatives.

  • Online NBSTC merchandise and branded apparel, making coalition items accessible to supporters across the country.

  • Digitization of organizational systems to improve communication, member services, and operational efficiency.

Dunlap emphasized that NBSTC remains focused on building future leaders, elevating professional standards, and expanding programs that support troopers and first responders at every stage of their careers.

“Our work reaches far beyond the badge,” he said. “Together, we are building something strong, lasting, and meaningful for the next generation.”

About President Matin Dunlap Sr.

Matin Dunlap Sr. is from Baltimore, MD, by way of Camden, NJ. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business with an Accounting focus from Rutgers University and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently completing Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff & Command. His professional and academic background reflects his commitment to leadership, integrity, and service.
